Behind the scenes with a wink

How is a digital world of experience like the GK World actually created?

Not with standard solutions. Not with PowerPoint. And certainly not with "We've always done it this way."

For GK Grünenfelder's new website, we at BUREAU54 decided to ignore our comfort zone and instead build an interactive 3D world that you don't just look at, but experience.

Idea? Sure. Chaos? Also.

It all started with a simple question:
How can innovation be made digitally tangible?

The answer was quickly clear: not with a conventional website. So, sketches were put on the table, minds were put into overdrive, and browsers were opened. It was tested, rejected, rethought, reprogrammed, rejected again—and then made even better.

Pixel by pixel, line of code by line of code, the GK world was created. Developed entirely in-house. Without a construction kit. Without a safety net or backup plan.

Behind the Scenes – Unfiltered
In our new behind-the-scenes clip, we show you exactly that:

  • creative flights of fancy
  • technical details
  • concentrated looks at screens
  • and moments when you ask yourself why you actually love it so much

Why do we do this?

Because we can.
Because we want to.
And because we are convinced that digital brand presences today must do more than just "work."

The GK world is our statement:
Websites can surprise.
Technology can be fun.
And good ideas can sometimes be cheeky.
